Outsoourcing a Good Thing
I see outsourcing as a wonderful thing. I know Americans are losing jobs but people who have never been able to put more that ten pennies together are gaining opportunities. I see outsourcing as sharing. Some will say it is the down fall of American civilization. I don’t see it that way. He wants twenty dollars a second to do something that one will do for less. If capitalism is not finding that person who will be happy to share and not kill you on a price mechanism, what is the problem? I remember working in offices with people who hated to be there but they were making 30 and 40 dollars an hour.
They complained about things that people would have smiled about at those prices. If someone is business minded enough to present something and find people who will joyfully accomplish the task. I think the whole outsourcing thing is truly a remarkable revolution. It helps on all ends of the process. Yes I feel bad for people who lose their positions and have to figure a new way, but it is what it is. I remember my brother working for TWA when we first came out of school. He was making money hand over fist and wanted even more.
When they went on strike and people flooded across the picket lines to take 8 dollars when they were getting 17 he called them scabs and every name you could think of. No matter how I explained to him that people would do what he did for less he did not get it. Where is TWA today? I don’t mind that the brother on the other end of my phone has an Indian accent. It does not bother me that companies are making these bold decisions to relocate. We act like we have lost our minds in the American work force. It does not really matter. Outsourcing is here to stay so you might as well get used to it.
